Verdwaal Lodge

During the hunting safari, guests stay in comfortable and atmospheric surroundings in the middle of the Namibian hunting area. Portsmut Eco Safaris operates both Portsmut Lodge and Verdwaal Lodge, providing a relaxing and welcoming base during the stay.

Following a major fire in 2019, the lodge was rebuilt from the ground up and completed in 2020. The result is a modern lodge where high comfort is combined with classic African atmosphere and close proximity to nature.

The lodge features six spacious rooms, all with private bathrooms. Rooms can be prepared either with two separate beds or one large double bed, depending on guest preferences.

After a long day of hunting, guests can relax by the private swimming pool, enjoy refreshments on the terrace or gather around the campfire and share the day’s experiences.

Great emphasis is placed on personal service, genuine hospitality and a relaxed atmosphere. Meals are inspired by African cuisine and are often served as atmospheric barbecue dinners, where game meat and local ingredients form a natural part of the experience.
